Summer Games 1984 has
been a long time coming. This is without a doubt one of the most complex - and awesome - re-creations
we’ve made
so far. Working with an illustrator and graphic designer, we’ve
brought this shirt back to life with the quality and accuracy we bring
to all of our shirts. This fine top, worn by Val Kilmer in
Real Genius, commemorates the 1984 Summer Olympics
in California and features a runner with gas mask and torch hurdling
his way through the polluted LA landscape. Most memorably, Chris Knight (Kilmer's character) sports this shirt
when he’s asked by Susan, “Can you hammer a six inch spike
through a board with your penis?”

Accidentally Appropriate Attire!
Cap, May 2010
"My friend and I run a blog called
Media Potluck, in addition to writing articles about eclectic media we host monthly double-feature film parties. I'd just got my first batch of
Real Genius shirts in and I was wearing the gas mask runner shirt at our movie night called Los Angles is Toast, where we watched
Miracle Mile and
Repo Man. I'd never seen the latter before, and I was shocked to see the gas mask Olympics shirt from
Real Genius in the film. Thanks FIC!"
