New for 2011 is the Heather Chandler costume, as inspired by the titular characters from the notorious 1989 movie of the same name. The clique's bossy ringleader meets an untimely demise early in the film, but her preppy, powersuit fashion lives on...
Start with her signature accessory, the red hair scrunchie.
You may need a wig. Think hairspary overload.
You'll also need a checkered blouse, layered with a navy cardigan and blazer. The blazer, naturally, should be an obnoxious shade of red, and come complete with shoulder pads that evoke the '80s. Our garments were provided by The Red Light, but your local thrift store will likely have reasonable facsimiles for all of them.

Pair, below the waist, with a frilly, floral print, white tights, and black flats (or Mary Janes), the latter adorned with red bows.
Finsh the look with a croquet mallet and ball (in this case, red, 'natch). We borrowed this kit from a friend, but a bit of Internet sleuthing turns up a multitude of affordable options.
