May brings a new exclusive to the Found Item collection, the Get Down/Deputy 6 Million $ Man shirt from 1978's so-bad-that-it's-great Roller Boogie.
What does the curious copy mean? That's hard to say (and Google, for once, is of no immediate assistance), but we'd like to think that it speaks to the lifestyle choices associated with a wild, bacchanal era: mirror balls, bell-bottoms, cocaine, sexual hedonism, the aforementioned DISCO. And, apparently, laps at the roller rink, soundtracked to your favorite jams.
Regardless of its context or meaning, the Get Down shirt is a simple, striking, two-sided design and now, having been rescued from the dustbin of history, it can be yours. As with all of our reproductions, we've paid careful attention to the details, in this case the boxy font and off-level tilt.
