Spring is upon us, which means it’s time to find your form. In addition to my weight work in the gym (a topic I’ve referrenced in this space before), I love to ride my bicycle. Here in Portland, Oregon, it’s a fantastic way to stay in shape, commute to work, explore new neighborhoods, save money and interact with other humans (cars are sooooooooo impersonal).
Along these lines, here are 8 bitchin’ bike-related tees (arranged in no particular order) that will make you look proper as you streamroll down the street.
1. Who is the greatest cyclist of all time? The casual sports fan would probably suggest Lance Armstrong, but Eddy Merckx would be my choice. This stylish tee from the folks at retro recreationists Homage Clothing pays tribute to the “Cannibal,” as Merckx was called by fans and competitors alike.

2. On the subject of cycling’s GOAT, it appears that others have their opinions as well. Check out this shirt which plays on the Jet Setting trend that has consumed the tee community of late.
3. Portland is home to a vast network of bike trails/lanes that make navigating the city safe and easy. But not every metropolis is so progressive. Bike activism is a nascent industry that needs your support; wearing this simple top from Brooklyn Industries is one way show it.
4. Aside from Paperboy, I can’t think of any other cycle-centric video games (that are worth gaming). That said, I’m kinda partial to this pixelated graphic.
More cowbell:
5. As a former dirty-dog bike messenger (5 years on the streets, yo), I have mixed feelings about the growing popularity of the oh-so-cool single-speed fixed gear… but I digress (as that’s an entirely different post altogether). This clever little design from the peeps at No Star riffs ever so slightly on said phenomenon.
6. Here we have one more sample fix-8ated on the single-speed theme.
7. The best thing about riding a bike is going FAST. To wit, peep out this shirt which captures the essence of speed. Via Rumplo.
8. I’d be remiss if I failed to include our very own Cutters shirt on this list. For those that don’t know, it makes an appearance during the climactic scene of Breaking Away, arguably the greatest bike movie ever.
